BHUBANESWAR: After experiencing sluggish business for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, city florists are hoping for a profitable season this year, reports Minati Singha.
With the wedding season on, the demand for flowers has increased in the past few months. The business is expected to see further boost with Valentine’s Day around the corner.
“We had to pass through a very difficult situation in the past two years. Now as the government is relaxing Covid-19 restrictions, we are getting good orders this month,” said Bibhuti Bhusan Swaina florist at Surya Nagar,
As the cap on wedding guests continues to be at 100, people have been conducting more than one event to celebrate weddings and other social functions.
“After a gap of several months I have finally received a good order of a three-day wedding functions. If the government increases the cap on wedding guests, the business would revive even more,” said Panchanan Samala florist at Chandrasekharpur.
