Weather will take a turn from tomorrow night: Delhi-NCR’s air in poor category, chances of rain on Friday and Saturday

Taking a turn in the capital, the weather has started showing its colours. In this episode, Wednesday morning has been the hottest for the second time in the last four years. The minimum temperature reached 15 degrees Celsius, four above normal, as the chilly winds stopped. Earlier in 2018, the mercury was recorded so high. Meteorologists have predicted that with the weather clear in the next 24 hours, a Western Disturbance is becoming active on Friday-Saturday. Its effect can be seen in the form of rain in Delhi-NCR.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Wednesday was 24.8 degrees Celsius, equal to normal. It was sunny all day and there was respite from the cold. However, in the evening, due to the moderate speed winds, there was a feeling of mild winter. The humidity level in the air ranged from 58 per cent to 87 per cent in the last 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that with the weather clear in the next 24 hours, the maximum temperature can be recorded up to 27 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be up to 13 degrees Celsius. The weather will take a turn from Thursday night and light rain may be recorded at some places. At the same time, for Saturday, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert and has predicted moderate to moderate rain. By next week, the maximum temperature will reach 27 degree Celsius.

Wind in poor category, rain likely to improve
The air of Delhi-NCR remained in the poor category on Wednesday. Only Noida’s air has reached the average category with an AQI of 174. The air quality monitoring agencies have forecast that the air condition will not be affected much in the next 24 hours. However, there is a possibility of improvement in view of the possibility of rain in the next two days.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Delhi Air Quality Index stood at 211 on Wednesday. AQI has been recorded in Faridabad 204, Ghaziabad 213, Greater Noida 142 and Gurugram 237. According to air standards body SAFAR, there was not much impact on air quality due to moderate wind speed throughout the day. In view of the possibility of rain from Thursday night, the air condition is expected to improve. In the last 24 hours, the level of PM 10 in the air is 189 and the level of PM 2.5 has been recorded at 81 micrograms per cubic meter.
