Moisture problems due to water vapor in the air. The minimum temperature this morning was 25.5 degrees. The maximum temperature yesterday afternoon was 30.3 degrees. The maximum amount of water vapor in the air is 98 percent. The rain was a modest 7.6 mm.
Not only Kolkata, but entire South Bengal is likely to receive scattered heavy rains today. There is a possibility of heavy rain in North and South 24 Parganas, East Midnapore and Nadia districts. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely in rest of the districts.
On the other hand, heavy rain is expected in Alipurduar’s Koch Behar on Thursday. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri. Heavy rains will continue in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Koch Behar. Moderate rain with thunderstorm is likely in Malda, North and South Dinajpur.
Giving the reason for the disaster, the Meteorological Department said that the seasonal axis extends from Jamshedpur Digha to the Bay of Bengal. There are cyclones in the adjoining areas of Jharkhand. A lot of water vapor is entering the south wind.
