Weather: Light rain in Delhi on this date, no relief from cold in MP before February 2

New Delhi: The weekly forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has revealed that there is a possibility of light rain in Delhi on February 3. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 20 and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively, in early February.

The Meteorological Department said that the temperature is likely to rise by 22 to 23 degrees Celsius in the next few days, while the night temperature may rise by 10 to 11 degrees Celsius, news agency PTI reported.

The maximum temperature in the national capital was being recorded below normal since the second week of January. The minimum temperature was near or above normal.

Seven Western Disturbances have hit Delhi in January this year, whereas in the month it happens three to four times as usual.

The rain caused by a Western Disturbance increased the humidity in the air, leading to fog with low temperatures for most of the day.

Meanwhile, the rest of the week is likely to remain either haze or fog.

According to the Air Quality and Weather Bulletin, the AQI in Delhi-NCR is likely to remain in the ‘poor’ category on Saturday and Sunday.

Moderate winds and better ventilation conditions are expected to continue for the next seven days.

No Relief from cold in Madhya Pradesh before February 2: imd

Meanwhile, there is no respite from the severe cold wave in Madhya Pradesh as the situation will continue till February 2, news agency IANS quoted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) as saying.

According to the IMD, the areas which are experiencing severe cold, may see a gradual increase in temperature after a week.

For the last four days, many parts of the state are witnessing severe cold with wind speed reaching 12-15 kmph. Clear sunshine for a few hours in the afternoon has not brought any respite from the bitter cold.

The IMD in its report said that the hill station Pachmarhi recorded a minimum temperature of around 1.0 degree Celsius and Khajuraho at 5.0 degree Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has issued a severe cold wave warning for Indore division as well as Ujjain Datia, Tikamgarh, Betul, Damod and Balaghat districts.
