IMD issued a warning of bad weather in Delhi on Wednesday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday (September 22) issued a warning of bad weather in Delhi, fearing waterlogging and traffic disruption.

It was a hot day in Delhi on Tuesday with parts of the national capital receiving rain in the latter part of the day, leading to waterlogging and traffic disruption in some areas.

The Safdarjung observatory recorded 3.6 mm of rain till 5.30 pm. Lodhi Road, Ridge area, Noida and Pitampura recorded 1 mm, 17.6 mm, 2 mm and 7 mm of rain respectively between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Safdarjung observatory, which is considered the city’s official marker, has received 1161.1 mm of rain this season. In 1975, 1,155.6 mm and in 1964 1190.9 mm were recorded.

The record so far in 1933 is 1,420.3 mm of rain. There was heavy traffic jam on Rohtak road due to waterlogging on Mundka underpass. Commuters also faced traffic jams in Central Delhi and Lutyens’ Delhi.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal.

The humidity level ranged from 89 per cent to 55 per cent.

The IMD uses four color codes – “green” means all is well, “yellow” indicates severely inclement weather and that the weather may change for the worse, disrupting day-to-day activities. may arise, is an “orange” warning issued as a warning for extremely bad weather with the possibility of traffic disruption with road and drain closures and power supply interruptions and “red” occurs When extremely inclement weather conditions are certainly going to disrupt travel and power and pose a significant risk to life.

Meteorologists have predicted a generally cloudy sky or a chance of thunder and lightning on Wednesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively. The minimum temperature on Monday was 26.5 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature was 35.8 degrees Celsius.
