A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana expressed unhappiness over repeated disruptions during virtual hearings due to the use of mobile phones by several advocates and asked it to ban participation through mobiles. may fall.

A bench of CJI and Justices AS Bopanna and Hema Kohli was unhappy that hearing in 10 matters listed on Monday had to be adjourned due to interference on the part of advocates in audio or visual or both during the hearing. ,

During the hearing of another matter, the bench noted the poor internet connectivity on the part of the lawyer and said, “We have no energy to hear such cases. Please devise a system by which we can hear you. Ten Matters have ended like this. And we are screaming.”

The apex court has been hearing cases through video-conferencing since March 2020 due to the pandemic and has been relaxing or hardening the conditions from time to time keeping in view the changing pandemic situation.

The court on January 2 took note of the sudden increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country and decided to hear all cases in virtual mode and benches are sitting in the residential offices of judges since January 7.
