A fresh notification by the state education department, released on Monday, has made it clear that the clock has started ticking for 1,698 non-teaching staff in different government schools who have been illegally recruited by the CBI and West Bengal. In the notification issued on Monday, the district school inspectors have been asked to provide a copy of Justice Basu’s order to the concerned non-teaching staff of the district within three working days from the date of receipt of the order.

“Thereafter, a compliance report may be submitted in the next five working days,” the notification said.

“This means that the clock has started ticking for these 1,698 non-teaching staff in different government schools, who have been arrested by the CBI and WBSSC for illegally securing jobs either to prove their innocence or to provide services. has been found to be ready to face termination,” explained a state education department official who declined to be named.
