Water Supply From Nimeta To Be Hit | Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will be taking up from Tuesday cleaning of the filtration plant at the Nimeta facility that supplies water to the eastern and southern parts of the city. The cleaning operation will continue for at least three days during which water supply will be affected in these areas. The facility draws water from the Ajwa Reservoir and then distributes it to the city after filtration. The facility was mired in a controversy in 2019 when it supplied colored and murky water to the city.
VMC officials said that the work was expected to go on for three days. This will affect water supply in the network areas of GIDC, Tarsali, Bapod, Nalanda, Gajrawadi, Manjalpur, Kapurai and Sayajipura water tanks. Water supply from Somat Talav, MaheshnagarSankheda, Dashalad, Mahanagar, Nanddham and Makarpura boosters will also be affected.
Sources said that for three to four days, water would be provided for shorter duration and at lower pressure in these areas. The VMC does not intend to stop water supply completely during the cleaning operation. TNN
