Virat Kohli’s reaction after KS Bharat hitting Usman Khawaja on the first day of the fourth Test match between India and Australia is absolutely unacceptable

Australia opener Usman Khawaja scored his maiden Test century in India on the opening day of the fourth Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The 36-year-old dominated proceedings as Australia reached 255 for 4 at stumps.

Khawaja’s brilliant innings became the talk of the social media. However, fans couldn’t help but notice a funny incident involving Khawaja, KS Bharat and Virat Kohli.

The incident happened in the second ball of the 71st over when Khawaja ducked a Mohammed Shami bouncer. The ball was later collected by India’s wicket-keeper Bharat. Even though Khawaja was inside the crease, Bharat decided to throw the ball towards the stumps and run out.

But the ball missed the target and hit Khawaja’s feet. While the Australian opener smiled after being hit, Virat Kohli, who was in the slips, looked fuming at Bharat. Now a clip of this entire incident has been shared on Twitter. As per the video, Kohli was not happy with Bharat’s behaviour. Bharat quickly went up to the Australian batsman and apologized for his mistake.

Interestingly, KS Bharath is also the wicketkeeper-batsman for Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Usman Khawaja worked hard throughout the day and anchored Australia’s innings. Pakistan-born Khawaja shared a crucial 61-run partnership with Travis Head. He then set sail with Captain Steven Smith. Khawaja and Smith batted in the middle session, which was the first wicketless session of the series.

Usman Khawaja was rewarded for his persistence when he smashed the first ball of the final over through midwicket off Mohammed Shami to bring up his 14th Test century. Moreover, it was Khawaja’s sixth century after returning to the Test side last January.

At the end of the first day, Khawaja was unbeaten on 104 with Cameron Green. Khawaja has certainly shown the Indian batsmen how to succeed on this wicket. The Ahmedabad pitch proved to be quite different from the pitches used in the first three Tests. The Indian bowlers had to work hard to maintain control and attack the stumps to restrict the Australian batsmen.
