Teenage sensation Devald Brevis has made a stellar start to his Indian Premier League career. South Africa dismissed the legendary Virat Kohli on the very first ball of his IPL career in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, after scoring a quick 29 off 19 balls in the previous match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Brevis, popularly known as ‘Baby Abby’, had a fan boy moment when the former India captain went up to him to chat after the game. Virat got furious when the umpire was given out lbw in a questionable decision. Virat was playing brilliantly and scored 48 runs in just 36 balls when he was dismissed by Brevis.
In a video posted by the official Twitter handle of Mumbai Indians, Virat showed his mettle by interacting with Brevis after the game.
In the viral 19-second video, Virat can be seen meeting the young turks of the Mumbai team where Brevis was present. After this Virat specially congratulates Dewald Brevis and says, “Jawan. good one, ah! Nice first date, take me to the first ball.”
Virat further says, “How is it? Good? Having fun?” Brevis replies with a smile, “Yeah, good experience.”
Due to his batting exploits in the 2021/22 Under-19 World Cup, Mumbai Indians bought Devald Brevis for Rs 3 crore in the IPL mega auction.
Coming to the match, Mumbai Indians could not convert a solid start provided by the opening pair of Ishan Kishan and skipper Rohit Sharma into good scores. Mumbai could only manage an average of 151/6 thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s 68 off 37 balls.
Opener Anuj Rawat (66 runs in 47 balls) and Virat Kohli’s brilliant contribution helped RCB chase down the target comfortably in the end. Bangalore registered a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Mumbai in which Anuj Rawat was adjudged the player of the match.
