Watch video: Mahindra XUV400 0-100 kmph and top speed run – Times of India

Mahindra & Mahindra recently revealed the highly anticipated XUV400 in the Indian market – the company’s first fully-electric SUV offering. Based on the same platform as the XUV300 ICE sub-compact SUV, Mahindra claims that the XUV400 has what it takes to take on not only B-segment but also, C-segment electric SUVs as well.
Mahindra has already revealed the spec sheet of the XUV400, however, pricing for the SUV will be disclosed in January next year. The electric SUV comes equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor that belts out 150 PS (110 kW) of power and 310 Nm of peak torque. Mahindra claims that the XUV400 is the fastest Indian SUV, and that it can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds.
On the World EV Day 2022, we got the chance to drive the Mahindra XUV400 at the MSPT (Mahindra SUV Proving Track), putting the company’s claims to test. Take a look at our 0 – 100 kmph test of the XUV400, as well as a top-speed run –

In our short test, we managed to hit the speed of 100 kmph on the Mahindra XUV400 in 9.634 seconds from standstill. However, considering the fact that the video was shot with two people onboard along with a few small bags, there’s scope for improvement. Furthermore, we were also able to hit the top speed of 156 kmph on the track during our test of the vehicle in 24.802 seconds.
The test drives for the XUV400 will begin from December 2022 onwards, followed by the price announcement, as well as commencement of bookings and deliveries in January next year. Upon arrival, the Mahindra XUV400 will serve as a direct rival to the Tata Nexon EV, while also give competition to the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
