The video was shared by a Twitter user while replying to a post shared by former India cricketer Aakash Chopra. “Retractable roof door ki baat hai sir, this is the kind of roof under which we fans were waiting during rain!! High time BCCI used all the money it earned to give a better experience to the fans in the first stadium,” read the caption.

One user described the infrastructure situation at Chinnaswamy as appalling and said that the visitors are eligible for a refund.

Another user pointed out how fans are treated as “third class citizens” even after paying a hefty amount.

Another user wrote, “This is 100% true! I always get shocked by this, India considers itself the best cricketing nation.”

Many claimed that most of the cricket stadiums in the country are in poor condition.

Chopra had also highlighted the urgency to improve the quality and condition of such stadiums. “Indian cricket should invest in some stadiums with retractable roof… With the amount of broadcast money flowing in, it is imperative to take the weather out of the equation. As much as possible,” he wrote on Twitter

Initially heavy rains had delayed the start in Bengaluru. South Africa captain Keshav Maharaj won the toss and elected to bowl first. However, the visiting team could bowl only 21 balls as rain again halted the progress of the game. The umpires waited for more than 90 minutes but the game was eventually called off due to no change in the weather.

The five-match T20I series ended at 2-2 level. South Africa started the series on a promising note after winning the first two matches and taking a vital 2-0 lead. Later, the Rishabh Pant-led India side made a scintillating comeback to clinch two back-to-back victories to level the series.
