South Korean boy band BTS enjoys massive popularity globally. Over the years, the boys — Jungkook, V, Jimin, Suga, Jin, RM, and j-Hope have given plenty of musical renditions that became an instant earworm. Although the seven members share a strong camaraderie, earlier it was reported that the band was likely to take a hiatus. The news that eventually turned out to be a rumour not only affected the die-hard fans but also hurt BTS member Suga. On Suga’s YouTube talk show Suchwita, the singer in an interaction with his guest — singer and actor Taemin revealed the time when he believed the disbandment rumours to be true and cried immensely after a performance thinking it was his last show with the band members.

According to a report by Rolling Stone, apart from Taemin, BTS member Jimin also made an appearance in Suchwita. When Suga asked Taemin to share his most memorable performance with the band, the latter revealed that it was the song I Need U from their 2015 album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1. “We really missed seeing artists be serious and ambitious about performing, but BTS was that group,” he said.

In response to Taemin, Suga turned nostalgic and a little emotional remembering that it was at that time the disbandment rumours were going on, making him quite upset. He thought that I Need U would be BTS’ last song and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1 would be the boyband’s last album. Suga admitted to being heartbroken at the news and cried profusely. “I say this now, but I really thought that was going to be our last album. I thought we were done with it. I cried so much after the pre-recording of M Countdown, I cried while performing,” he opened up. However luckily, his negative anticipation turned out false.

“We’re living in reality, in 2023, but we always talk about the past when we had such a hard time. Talking to the members about the past is the most fun,” continued Suga, as cited by Rolling Stone. In the latter part of the conversation both Suga and Jimin said that presently, they were “desperately” hoping for a BTS reunion which was likely to take place in 2025.

Speaking of Taemin, the singer marked his presence in Suchwita to promote the release of his fourth solo mini album Guilty on October 30.
