Shubman Gill hits his third IPL century, 129 off 60 balls, to take the Orange Cap

Shubman Gill broke several records with his third Indian Premier League (IPL) century of the 2023 season during the Qualifier 2 between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.

He became the leading batsman in the season with 851 runs, surpassing Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis (730), before reaching his best IPL and top score of the season.

Opener Gill, touted as the future of Indian batting, made the most of the relief, scoring 30 when Tim David dropped him off Chris Jordan.

Gill reached his half-century in 32 balls and then brought up his hundred in 49 balls with a six off the bow amid thunderous applause.

On the fourth ball of the 15th over, Gill danced and smashed a short ball from Cameron Gill.
