Rajasthan Royals batsman Shimron Hetmyer took a brilliant catch to dismiss Kolkata Knight Riders star opener Jason Roy in their Indian Premier League match at the Eden Gardens on Thursday. Hetmyer showed good awareness near the boundary and kept his balance to get the better of Roy.

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson elected to bowl first and Trent Boult made sure the decision worked in their favour. The left-arm pacer dismissed Roy on the second ball of the third over. The Englishman flicked the ball over square leg, where Hetmyer leaped in the air to take his catch near the boundary line, managed to keep the right balance and not touch the rope.

Ahead of the match, Roy talked about his form in the Indian Premier League so far.

“It is going well, I am very happy with the starts I am getting. I’m one big score away from feeling a million dollars. At the moment, it’s just like joining the team and making a good start for the team. I want those big scores. When I keep my game simple and don’t try too hard, it’s just as effective, if not more effective, than when I go over the top. I’m just doing my job, enjoying it, trying to find new ways to help others while developing my game.”

The Royals have made some changes in their playing XI after suffering defeats in the last three matches. Trent Boult returns to the XI and replaces Kuldeep Yadav, while KM Asif replaces Murugan Ashwin.

While Kolkata Knight Riders included Anukul Roy in the starting XI in place of Vaibhav Arora.
