Rohit Sharma received a special Mumbai Indians jersey from legend Sachin Tendulkar for playing his 200th game for MI in the Indian Premier League.

Th former MI skipper becomes the third player to make 200 IPL appearances for a single franchise after Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.

“Long time ago, I was having a discussion with Mrs. Nita Ambani, that we have to bring Rohit to Mumbai Indians,” Sachin Tendulkar said in a video posted by MI.

Rohit is also be appearing in his 245th IPL match and only MS Dhoni has played more IPL matches than him (252). Rohit has played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians in 14 different editions of the tournament, only player to achieve the feat for MI. Rohit has been a part of all but 6 matches that MI have played in the IPL since he became a part of the franchise in 2011.

Rohit is al the all-time leading run getter for MI in the IPL, scoring over 5000 runs. Nobody else has more than 3500 runs for MI in IPL. Rohit is only the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to score a IPL hundred for the Mumbai Indians. He also has the 2nd highest score for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, scoring 109* v KKR at Eden Gardens in 2012.
