WATCH: Rohit Sharma Hilariously Reacts To His Old Picture In Mumbai Indians Dressing Room – News18

Rohit Sharma’s photograph from 16 years ago left the former Mumbai Indians skipper rolling in the aisles. In a light-hearted moment within the Mumbai Indians dressing room, Rohit was seen chuckling over his youthful appearance, presumably from the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Adding to the comical theme of the scene, West Indies international Romario Shepherd can be heard calling out Rohit as, “Young Ro”. He then goes on to ask the Team India skipper how old he was in the picture. After thinking for a while, Rohit replied by saying, “I was 20”.

Mumbai Indians shared a video of this hilarious conversation between the two cricketers on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). “Jab Hitman met 20-year-old Ro today,” read the caption of the post shared by the five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions.

Rohit has been one of the main pillars of the Mumbai Indians squad in recent times. In 2013, the Nagpur-born batter donned the role of the franchise’s new captain, succeeding Australia’s batting icon Ricky Ponting. Given his good form, Rohit was able to guide the Mumbai-based side to their maiden IPL title in the same season. Rohit has led Mumbai in 11 IPL campaigns, winning the trophy five times in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. In his IPL career, Rohit has scored over 6500 runs while boasting an average of 30.1 and a strike rate of 131.22.

Mumbai Indians are currently being led by Hardik Pandya in the ongoing season of the IPL. Pandya has already led Gujarat Titans to an IPL triumph in 2022 and the star India all-rounder will certainly be hoping to replicate a similar show this time. In the seven games that Mumbai Indians have played under Pandya’s leadership so far this season, the five-time champions have recorded three wins.

The Mumbai Indians are next set to play against the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024. The contest between RR and MI will take place on Monday, April 22 at the Sawai Mansingh Cricket Stadium.

MI picked up a win over PBKS on Thursday and the win against Punjab Kings also marked Rohit Sharma’s 250th game in the T20 competition. Only MS Dhoni has more games than the former Mumbai Indians skipper at 256.
