Political controversy erupted after the arrest of Hindu religious leader Kalicharan Maharaj on Thursday. The seer was arrested by the Chhattisgarh Police from Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, however, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra objected to the “unilateral move” by the Chhattisgarh Police, alleging that they followed proper protocol while arresting Kalicharan Maharaj. did not do. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel refuted the allegation saying that no rules were violated and the arrests were made as per procedures.
