Harry Brook was one of the costliest buys in the last IPL auction as Hyderabad bought him for Rs 13.25 crore. Brook had failed with the bat in his first three innings of the IPL and was under tremendous pressure from the price tag. Hence, Brook and the entire Hyderabad team management will be happy that he finally got the better of the bat.

Brook hit 12 fours and three sixes in his stormy innings. Captain Aiden Markram and Abhishek Sharma gave full support to the England batsman. Actually Markram himself registered a brilliant half-century. Thanks to Brook’s century, Hyderabad added 228 runs on the board.

Chasing a challenging target, Kolkata got off to the worst start as they lost their flamboyant wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the first over itself. The likes of Venkatesh Iyer and Sunil Narine also failed with the bat. It was the pair of Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh that kept the home side in the game. In the end, Sunrisers Hyderabad showed their guts to win the match by 23 runs.
