Only Sunil Gavaskar and Don Bradman have scored more runs than Harry Brook in their first six Tests.

Harry Brook etched his name in the history books as the young England player continued his impressive rise by scoring another century in his relatively short career so far.

Having played just nine innings, the 24-year-old has so far scored four centuries and three fifties. England scored their fourth century against New Zealand on the opening day of the second Test in Wellington.

Brook came close to his double century before rain forced stumps early on Day 1, putting an end to the onslaught of New Zealand bowlers.

The youngster, who is now the highest run-scorer by any batsman after nine Test innings, has scored 807 runs at an impressive average of 100 as he scored a career-best 184* on the opening day.

East India International Vinod Kambli had scored 798 runs in nine innings, which was surpassed by Brook on Friday. He became the first player to score more than 800 runs in his first nine innings. The special thing is that all these runs have come in only 803 balls.

He is smashing the opposition bowlers with an unbelievable strike rate of 100.12. The Englishman also surpassed two legendary names in the form of Sunil Gavaskar (912) and Don Bradman (862) who have scored more runs than Brook in their first six Tests.

After scoring his hundred, the right-handed batsman, who made his debut in January last year, raised his bat with joy, which is slowly becoming a regular sight as he brought up his fourth century.

He would cross the 150-run mark shortly afterwards, that too in just 145 balls.

Incredibly, as if this was not enough, the century may not count if Brook records his first double ton on the second day, needing only 16 runs to achieve the landmark.

Talking about the second Test, the home side started the match on a high as Ben Stokes’ side were reduced to 21/3 when Brooke was joined by Joe Root. Their pairing helped to steady the ship and take England to 315/3 at stumps, with Root scoring his 29th Test century.
