Islamabad: A video of a Pakistani national praising India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ridiculing the Shehbaz Sharif government in his country for its utter failure to rein in skyrocketing inflation has become an instant hit on social media. The viral video, which is being widely shared and re-tweeted, is currently garnering huge backlash from both Pakistani and Indian users on Twitter.
The video, originally posted by Pakistani YouTuber Sana Amjad, shows a desperate cry for help from a fellow Pakistani citizen and his frustration against the Shehbaz Sharif government over the current state of affairs in the country. In the video, the man can be heard expressing his wish that he too could buy goods at a fair price if Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ruling Pakistan.
Sana Amjad can be seen asking a local man why the slogan “Pakistan se zinda bhago chahe India chale jao” is being raised on the streets. Responds by saying that he wishes he was not born in Pakistan.
The man then wishes that if partition had not happened in 1947, he and his fellow countrymen would have been in a position to buy essential commodities at reasonable prices and feed their children every night.
“I wish Pakistan had not separated from India. Then we would have been buying tomatoes at PKR 20 per kg, chicken at PKR 150 per kg and petrol at PKR 50 per litre,” he said in the viral video. He said, “It is unfortunate that we got an Islamic nation but we could not establish Islam here.”
