Fans taunted LSG with ‘Kohli’ slogans as he was returning to the dugout after a strategic time-out during an IPL match on Saturday.

Fans taunt Lucknow Super Giants with slogans of Virat Kohli during their Indian Premier League match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Earlier this season, during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gautam Gambhir and Naveen-ul-Haq had an on-field altercation with Virat Kohli. The heated debate left fans divided on social media.

Meanwhile, it all started with a heated on-field argument between Kohli and LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq during the second innings of the match. The Afghanistan pacer took it to another level and was also seen in an animated exchange during the post-match formalities after RCB scored the points on offer. After that, Kohli was also seen getting into a verbal exchange with Kyle Mayer before LSG mentor Gambhir pulled out the West Indies all-rounder. But, things took a turn for the worse as Gambhir opened up against Kohli and a brawl ensued.

This was not the first time that Kohli and Gambhir had clashed against each other as the two had exchanged heated words a few years back in IPL 2013 when Gambhir played for KKR.

Recently, former England spinner Graeme Swann had said that both Kohli and Gambhir are big personalities and they are not going to back down against each other.

“After playing cricket for a lifetime, sometimes emotions boil over on the field. You know if they do it, it is good for the league. You should never try to undermine players so much that they don’t wear their heart on their sleeve. One of the reasons Virat Kohli is Virat Kohli is that he is so passionate about his cricket. He is so in your face that it scares off many players. And even then, there will be some players who think this goes too far. Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli will always keep their word. They are big personalities who have grown up playing together. So, Gautam is never going to bow down before Virat. This made me laugh. I thought it was brilliant,” Swann told NDTV.
