WATCH: ‘Drunk’ Jharkhand Cops Dance Inside Police Station On Holi, Suspended After Video Goes Viral

New: On the occasion of Holi in Godda district of Jharkhand, Jharkhand Police has suspended five policemen for drinking alcohol and dancing in the police station premises. Superintendent of Police Nathu Singh Meena has suspended five policemen with immediate effect. The video was shared by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babu Lal Marandi on Twitter, where he also expressed his disappointment over the incident.

“This indecent and recklessly careless presentation of some policemen in the police station premises. This is the sinister face of saviors masquerading as protectors. Jharkhand has really been put on a powder keg by Hemant, the accidental prince of the Soren Sultanate. Tribal society and the country. Will remember like this. Wake up youth of Jharkhand,” Marandi tweeted. Departmental action has been initiated against the five policemen in this matter.

“On 09.03.2023, a video of Mahagama police station under Godda district went viral, in connection with the said viral video, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Mahagama was interrogated. In the course of investigation the following officers were found guilty, agreeing with The undersigned has been suspended and returned to the police station,” said a press note issued by the office of the Superintendent of Police, Godda.

The suspended policemen include two ASIs and three constables – assistant sub-inspector Bipin Bihari Rai, assistant sub-inspector Radha Krishna Singh, constable Satyendra Narayan Singh, constable Krishna Kumar Singh and constable Pyare Mohan Singh.

Action was taken against these policemen after a video went viral on social media. Visuals from the purported video show policemen dancing and drinking inside the police station premises.
