Bhuvneshwar Kumar was at his devastating best when he opened the attack for Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday night.
It was a dream start for Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals as they got rid of two dangermen – Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson – in the space of four deliveries in an IPL 2024 clash on Thursday night.
A vintage show from Bhuvneshwar with the new ball saw RR lose their star opener Buttler and then skipper Samson for a duck each.
The ball was swinging and Bhuvneshwar was toying with the RR top-order batters. He first outfoxed Buttler for a golden duck, inducing an outside edge with Marco Jansen taking the catch in the slip cordon.
Three balls later, he produced a peach of an inswinging delivery that sneaked past Samson’s bat to crash onto the middle stump sending him back for a three-ball duck.
In chase of 202, RR were rattled early losing two wickets for just one run thanks to an excellent first over of Bhuvneshwar.
