Warrants against 16 people for call to recite Hanuman Chalisa at Shahi Eidgah in Mathura like 1

Uttar Pradesh: The Mathura City Magistrate has issued bailable warrants against 16 people belonging to a Hindu organization amid calls for recitation of Hanuman Chalisa inside the Shahi Idgah mosque on December 6.

Mathura Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Martand Prakash Singh informed that “no permission has been sought by any organization and cases have been registered against two people so far for attempting to gather crowd for the event. “

The Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) had last month asked all its supporters to come to the mosque near Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi on December 6 to recite the Hanuman Chalisa.

A similar call was made last year as well. However, it was called off after the Mathura police took over the matter. “We were not ready in 2021 as it was the first time. Our workers were heavily targeted by the police and thus, the venue was changed and the ‘Jalabhishek’ was held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. We are more prepared this time and workers have been asked to protect themselves,” said Rajyashri Bose Chowdhary, national president of ABHM.

He also said, “The event will take place on December 6. There will be a peaceful recitation of Hanuman Chalisa between 12 to 12.30 pm at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.”

SHO of Govind Nagar police station Sanjay Kumar Pandey said, “About three dozen people have already been compelled by giving notices.”
