Wanted Criminal Held In Pratapgarh | Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: A history-sheeter was reportedly arrested after he was shot in an encounter near Mazra Chichiliya Purva under Hathigawon police station of Pratapgarh district late Saturday night.
Police have also seized one country-made pistol of 0.315 bore along with two live cartridges and a bike. The wanted criminal identified as Nanka Yadav alias Ram Singh, 30, a resident of Biharia was admitted at SRN hospital in Prayagraj district for treatment. “Wanted in 18 cases of loot and other crimes and carrying Rs 25,000 reward on his arrest, Ram Singh was surrounded by a police team on Saturday night and was injured in gunfire,” Hathigawan Police Station SHO Santosh Singh said. Hathigawon police received a tip off about the movement of a hardened criminal between Bachandamau and Suniyawa andintercepted a man near Mazra Chichiliya bridge road and asked him to stop. The criminal opened fire on police party and cops too exchanged fire which left Nanka injured in his left leg. He was first taken to Kunda community health center where doctors referred him to SRN hospital in Prayagraj fortreatment.
Police said arrested Nanka was among top 10 criminals of Hathigawon policestation and he was wanted by police in connection with loot and robbery cases.
