Although the entire team of the film was present at the pre-release event, Waltair Veeraiyya’s female lead actress Shruti Haasan did not attend due to ill health.
Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi is all set for the release of his upcoming action comedy film Waltair Veerayya. The pre-release event of this KS Ravindra directorial film was held on January 9 at the grounds of Andhra University of Engineering. The venue was changed from RK Beach to AU Ground after the police denied permission to hold the event at the former venue.
Although the entire team of the film was present at the pre-release event, Waltair Veeraiyya’s female lead actress Shruti Haasan did not attend due to ill health. Addressing the audience on the occasion, Chiranjeevi talked about Shruti’s absence from the pre-release function, apart from appreciating her for her performance in the film.
The 67-year-old asked the actress on camera to name the food eaten during the Ongole festival when she attended the pre-release event of her second film, Veera Simha Reddy. Chiranjeevi hinted that the Tollywood diva might have fallen ill after consuming a special dish on the said occasion. He joked that someone might have threatened the actress from coming to the pre-release event of Waltair Veeraiah, after which she could not join the film’s team.
On a serious note, The Godfather actor revealed that his Waltair Veeraiyya co-star was unwell. He further added that Shruti had also undergone a COVID-19 test, adding that he wished the diva a speedy recovery. Appreciating her outstanding performance, Chiranjeevi revealed that during the shoot of the romantic Sridevi Chiranjeevi song, Shruti did a commendable job even though she was shivering with cold, wearing only a saree.
Chiranjeevi was all praise for Shruti’s dedication, expressing that the actress gave an impressive performance while dancing in cold, snowy weather. In a now-vanished Instagram story, the Ramaiya Vastavaiya actress revealed that she was unable to attend the pre-release event.
She wrote, “I am very sad that I will not be able to attend the grand launch of Waltair Veeraiya today due to my ill health. I was very ill and could not come today… Honored to work with Chiranjeevi Garu in this film Wishing our entire team a successful launch and I am so sorry to miss it.
