Vorakova told Luxembourg TV channel RTL Today that she hopes Tennis Australia Compensate her for expenses associated with her trip to Melbourne and potential prize money she may have missed.
“I hope Tennis Australia will deal with this and that we don’t have to take legal steps,” she said.
Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), the breakaway players’ body started by Novak Djokovic in 2020, said it was doing due diligence on Vorakova’s case.
“PTPA believes that legal certainty should be a paramount principle in any democratic society,” it said in a statement. “We will continue to support and advocate for players in a way that is acceptable to them.
“We are grateful that Ms. Vorakova is safe, and we look forward to her time on the court.”
Djokovic, whose visa was reinstated at a federal court hearing on Monday, was set to return to practice Melbourne Park on Wednesday as he awaits the immigration minister’s decision alex hawk on his position.
