Former Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has questioned the current culture of Congress. During a program organized in Pune on Thursday, he said that there has been a lot of change in the working style of the party. Shinde said, “The Congress tradition of having sessions for debates and talks is over now. I am sad for this.’

He further said, ‘It is necessary to have meetings for introspection. Our policies may be wrong, but we can make them right. The party needs more such sessions. Shinde further said that there was a time, when my words in the Congress party had some value, but I do not know whether it is now or not. He said that Congress is also losing its culture of ideology.

‘Difficult to understand where the party is going’
Shinde said, “There was a time when camps, workshops were organized in Congress. In these camps, there used to be brainstorming as to where the party is going, but in today’s time it is difficult to understand where the party is going. Now Chintan Shivir is not organized, I feel very sad about it.

These leaders have raised questions before
Like Shinde, many leaders including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Kapil Sibal and Veerappa Moily have raised questions about the working style of the party. He has also advocated a comprehensive reshuffle in the party. Sushil Kumar Shinde has been counted among the veteran leaders of Maharashtra. During the UPA government, Shinde had important responsibilities like the Home Ministry. Shinde has also been a senior Congress leader, former Chief Minister and Governor of Maharashtra.

Congress should introspect: Sanjay Raut
On Shinde’s statement, Shiv Sena MP and spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that now “If Shinde is saying this, then Congress should introspect on it. He is one of the oldest soldiers of Congress and has fought a lot for the party. If he is expressing his pain, his party should consider it. We are outsiders, but we want the Congress party to continue.
