New Delhi: Vodafone Idea said on Wednesday that its board has approved the benefit of four years of spectrum-payment Stoppage This is being offered by the government as part of its recent relief package for the telecom sector.
Other options given in the DoT notification will be considered within the time frame prescribed by the board, it said in a regulatory filing.
“We would like to inform you that the Board has approved the exercise of the option of moratorium on the company spectrum As per the notification dated October 14, 2021 issued by the Department of Telecommunications, the installments of the auction for a period of 4 years (October 2021 to September 2025).
The government had last week written to the telcos asking them to state by October 29 whether they would opt for the moratorium. Indian Airtel President Sunil Mittal had said that the company would opt for the moratorium.
