Director Vivek Agnihotri said, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is a film about the testimonials of 700 Kashmiri Pandits who were never heard or seen before. He was in the national capital to interact with the media on the film along with the cast and producers of the film. He said it took him and his team four years to research and film, and that the Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora (GKPD) helped them find and locate Kashmiri Pandits who were direct victims of violence in Kashmir.
Agnihotri said, “We have so much material that we can produce a series. All the accounts are heartbreaking. These are human stories… We are thinking about it… We will come up with a series. “
“The immense response we got from the community was overwhelming. These are all true accounts. No one knew about them. When we started with this idea, no one believed it happened to Kashmiri Hindus. “
Anupam KherThe incredible performance in the film has been receiving critical acclaim. Describing it as a result of the pain of being a Kashmiri Pandit himself and hearing the sad stories of members of his community, he said the role is about the truth in Kashmir.
Kher said: “It is not a film but a wound that can never be healed.” He said that the film presented a truth which was never revealed. His character of Pushkar Nath is at the center of the film; This is the soul of the heartwarming film.
He said: “No one talked about Kashmiri Pandits. Nobody had any idea about the trauma. There was a producer from Hyderabad, Abhishek Agarwal, who came forward for the film when there was no one to support. “
