Vivek Agnihotri on Yasin Malik’s life imprisonment

A Delhi court on Wednesday sentenced separatist leader and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief Yasin Malik to life imprisonment in the 2017 terror funding case. Special Judge Praveen Singh delivered the verdict under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act which will run concurrently and for life. Malik has been accused of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir, killing of Indian Air Force officers, promoting terrorism and extremism in the Valley. ‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri was also among those who reacted to Malik’s sentence. Calling it a great decision, Agnihotri said Malik’s arrest is a “major milestone in our campaign for #RightOfJustice”.

Soon after the news, the filmmaker took to his Twitter and wrote, “GREAT JUDGEMENT. This is a moment of HEALING for all Kashmiri Hindus. A major milestone in our campaign for #RightOfJustice. The day that promised was aaaj hi gaya… We will see. #YasinMalik.”

“This is just the beginning. We will not rest in our fight for #RightToJustice until #YasinMalik and Bitta are hanged,” he said.

He also dropped a clip of this latest release ‘The Kashmir Files’ to take a dig at Yasin’s statement in court. Agnihotri tweeted, “When the reel becomes real. We spent years understanding Yasin Malik’s psyche. That’s exactly what he said in court today. What a slap to the secular lobby.
