Vivek Agnihotri Challenges Nadav Lapid To Prove Kashmir Files Event False, Says Will Quit Films If Proven

Vivek Agnihotri, director of The Kashmir Files, challenged IFFI jury chief, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid, to falsify an incident or scene in the film. His challenge came after the international filmmaker called The Kashmir Files ‘obscene’ and ‘disinformation’ at the closing ceremony of IFFI 2022. Vivek shared a video on Twitter sharing his reaction to Nadav’s controversial statement regarding the film.

“This is not new to me as terrorist organizations, urban Naxalites, and ‘India’s tukde tukde tukde’ people have been saying such things for some time now. But I am surprised that in an event organized by the Government of India, on a platform provided by the Government of India, a narrative was supported to separate Kashmir. and many Indians are living India Used those words against India. who are these people? These are the same people who have been calling The Kashmir Files propaganda ever since I started researching this film,” he said in Hindi.

“This film is made by talking to 700 people whose family members were raped, killed and separated, are they doing propaganda and talking obscenities? The land which was once completely Hindu (occupied), today no Hindu lives there, even today Hindus are selectively killed from that land, is this propaganda and obscenity?

“The question that comes up again and again is that The Kashmir Files is a propaganda film – which means the genocidal attack never happened. Today I challenge these intellectuals and this great filmmaker of Israel that if they can prove even one shot, dialogue or incident to be false, I will stop making films.” Vivek challenged.

The Indian filmmaker shared the video with the caption, “Terrorist supporters and genocide deniers can never silence me. Jai Hind. #TheKashmirFiles #ATrueStory.”

Vivek’s response came shortly after Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi, who starred in The Kashmir Files, slammed the Israeli filmmaker for his statements.
