Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri announced his upcoming non-fiction project ‘The Kashmir Files Unreported’ which will release soon on OTT platform, ZEE5. The filmmaker, who previously directed the 2022 film. ‘The Kashmir Files’ released the official teaser on its social media handle saying that it will present “the ugly truth of the genocide of Hindus in Kashmir”.
Vivek Agnihotri tweeted, “Lots of genocide deniers, terror supporters and enemies of India have questioned The Kashmir Files. Now I bring you the naked truth of the genocide of Hindus in Kashmir, which only a devil can question. Coming soon #KashmirUnreported.” However, the filmmaker did not reveal any details about the format of ‘The Kashmir Files Unreported’.
The streaming service also shared the teaser of the project and said that it will help viewers “rediscover neglected chapters in the history of Kashmiri Pandits”. ZEE5 tweeted, “Some tragedies still yearn for closure… #TheKashmirFilesUnreported coming soon.”
Written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir following the killings of community members by terrorists. characteristic of Anupam KherThe film, starring Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi, opened on March 11, 2022 to polarized responses, but went on to become one of the most commercially successful Hindi films of the year. A huge controversy broke out after its release and many called it a ‘propaganda’ film. Many people also demanded to ban it.
The Kashmir Files is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the early 1990s and how this led to region-based killings.

What’s next for Vivek Agnihotri?
The filmmaker’s next directorial venture is ‘The Vaccine War’, which is scheduled to release on August 15 in 11 languages including Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Assamese. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh recently confirmed that Vivek Agnihotri is looking at the September 28 release date of The Vaccine War.
