Coming to bat, India’s team fell three wickets for 96 runs in 11 overs. But Kohli played an innings of 38 runs in 27 balls to take India to 179. The Indian skipper might not have played some breathtaking shots but his calm approach helped India reach 179 in 20 overs. New Zealand scored 179 runs in 20 overs and the game went into a Super Over with India emerging victorious.

Three days later, India and New Zealand met again in a T2OI and the match went to a halt as New Zealand managed to reach 165 in 20 overs.
Kohli may not have played well but the thrill and aggression he displayed on the field was enough to charge the visitors for yet another thrilling Super Over. And again India registered a remarkable victory by beating New Zealand in the Super Over.

It is one of the most memorable T20I wins under Kohli’s captaincy. Chasing 199, Kohli came out to bat when India were 62-2 in the sixth over. whereas Rohit Sharma Scored a sensational century, Kohli smashed 43 off 29 balls before being dismissed with the opener.
India chased down the target with 8 balls to spare as Kohli added another win to his cap.

While opening for India, Kohli did not have a good time with the bat as he scored 21 runs in 15 balls but the captain impressed with his captaincy skills.
Chasing a target of 145 runs in 20 overs, England was running towards victory, but Kohli did not give up. Jasprit Bumrah Ball in the middle overs and saved his two for death.
Bumrah conceded just five runs in his last two overs to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat as England failed to chase down 8 runs in the 20th over.
Overall, Kohli has captained India in 45 T20Is, winning 27 of them. India lost only 14 T20 matches under Kohli’s leadership while two matches were tied and two matches were of no result.
In a statement on Twitter, Kohli explained his decision to step down from the T20I captaincy. The India captain said that he needs to give himself space to play in all three formats for the country.
