Virat Kohli Rises to 4th in ICC ODI Rankings, Siraj Moves to 3rd After Shining Against Sri Lanka

Virat Kohli moved up to fourth in the ICC ODI rankings for batsmen, while Siraj moved up to third in the list for ODI bowlers

Team India Recently beat Sri Lanka 3-0 in the ODI series and the likes Virat Kohli Also Mohammad Siraj played a key role in the series win. The Indian pair has been rewarded for their stupendous performance.

Kohli has moved up to fourth in the latest ICC ODI rankings for batsmen, while Siraj has also moved up to third in the bowlers’ list.

The former India skipper won the Player of the Series award for his impressive performance against Dasun Shanaka’s men in the third and final ODI, scoring two centuries, including an unbeaten 166.

Meanwhile Siraj picked up nine wickets and was the leading wicket-taker in the three-match series, including a four-wicket haul in the final match in which India restricted Sri Lanka to a total of 73 runs chasing 391.

Virat moved up 750 points in the latest ODI rankings behind the likes of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who leads with 887 points, while South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen is second with 766. His compatriot Quinton de Kock rounds up. Top three with 759 points.

After Kohli, Australia’s flamboyant opener David Warner is in fifth place on 747, three points behind the Indian ace.

Siraj has meanwhile reached a career-best rating of 685 and has an opportunity to become the No. 1 ranked ODI bowler if he continues his fine form against New Zealand.

Trent Boult continues to lead the rankings for ODI bowlers with 730 points, while Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood is second with 727 ratings.

Both Kohli and Siraj would look to continue their momentum against New Zealand as they tour the subcontinent for a three-match ODI series followed by an equal number of T20Is.

The first match of the ODI series will be held on Wednesday, January 18 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
