Rahul took to Twitter and posted a heart-warming note to start a new chapter in his life.

The cricketer fraternity congratulated newly married couple KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty on Monday tying the knot in Khandala. The couple was in a relationship for the last few years as both of them posted ethereal pictures from their wedding ceremony on social media.

Rahul took to Twitter and posted a heart-warming note to start a new chapter in his life.

“In your light, I learn to love…” Today, with our dearest people, we got married in the home that has brought us so much joy and peace. With hearts full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness. @theathiyashetty,” tweeted Rahul.

Veteran cricketer Suresh Raina also left a message for the newly married couple and wrote, “Congratulations brother! God bless you both.”

Rahul has been rested from the ongoing ODIs against New Zealand due to family commitments. After the ceremony was over, Suniel and his son Ahan Shetty came out of the venue, greeted the media and distributed sweets to media persons stationed outside the venue.

Recently, Rahul played an important role in India’s rescue of Sri Lanka from a difficult situation in the second ODI. Chasing 216, India were reeling at 47/3, but the Karnataka batsman held on and scored an unbeaten 64 to hand the hosts a series win.

Rahul will soon return to the Indian team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia next month. Rahul will act as Rohit Sharma’s deputy as the BCCI has announced the squad for the first two matches of the series.

The first match of the series will be played in Nagpur on February 9, while the second Test match of the series will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
