The batting superstar and former captain has become a fan of Virat Kohli after India started the first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali. After the Test ended on Sunday, Kohli handed over his jersey to a fan before boarding the team bus for the hotel.
The Test was memorable for more than one reason. The competition was Kohli’s 100th Test of his international career as he became the 12th Indian along with Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly among others to achieve the feat.

Then, Ravindra Jadeja became the first male player to score over 150 and take nine wickets in a Test. Jadeja scored an unbeaten 175 to help India reach 574/8 d.

And then he weaved his magic with the ball as well as took five wickets to bundle Sri Lanka out for 174 as India enforced a follow-on. In the second dig, he took four more wickets to bowl the tourists out for 178, helping his team to an innings victory.
Kohli though started and looked ready for a big total but was dismissed on a brilliant delivery while batting on 45. Later, when it was India’s turn, new Test captain Rohit Sharma and other team-mates presented Kohli with a guard of honour. Mark a milestone.
On Sunday evening, Kohli took to his social media account to share a video thanking fans for the journey. “It’s been a long journey to get here. Full of ups and downs and learnings. It wouldn’t have been any other way. Thank you for all your support,” Kohli captioned the video.
“Thank you. To my entire family, teammates, coaches and BCCI. You have made this journey beautiful. On and on,” read a message in the video.
