Megastar Chiranjeevi and Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s recently released film Acharya performed poorly at the box office. With the premiere of Virat Parv starring Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati, audiences are eager to see if the film with Naxal background will do well at the box office.
Acharya, who is loyal to the Naxalites, was described by the audience as strange and uncomfortable. As a result, the film did not perform well at the box office.
The film Virata Parvam, which premiered on June 17, is based on true events from the 1990s. This film has come despite the failure of many films made on the background of the Naxalite movement.
Acharya was made with a budget of around Rs 140 crore. The film earned just over Rs 40 crore at the box office. According to sources, the film suffered a loss of over Rs 84 crore in its theatrical run.
After the box office flop, many distributors demanded refunds from the makers. Ram Charan’s Konidela Konidela Production Company collaborates with Matinee Entertainment To co-produce the film. Some distributors have sent letters to Chiranjeevi seeking his intervention to compensate him for the loss.
There are also Nivetha Pethuraj, Priyamani, Nandita Das, Naveen Chandra, Zarina Wahab, Ishwari Ra, O and Saichand in the Virat Parva. Banerjee, Naginidu, Rahul Ramakrishna, Devi Prasad, Anand Ravi and Anand Chakrapani can be seen in supporting roles.
