Viral video: Wrestling federation chief angry, publicly thrashing young wrestler – watch

Wrestling Federation of India President and BJP Lok Sabha MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Friday found himself in an unusual position by slapping a wrestler from Uttar Pradesh on the stage during the first round of the Under-15 National Wrestling Championship. Shaheed Ganpat Rai Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

Several wrestlers from other states, especially Uttar Pradesh, reacted sharply and requested that the WFI President apologize to them. However, Jharkhand Wrestling Association chief Bhola Nath Singh and others intervened and brought the situation to a close.

WFI President lost his cool and slapped the wrestler

Singh, who was the chief guest at the wrestling tournament, lost his cool with an older wrestler, who started an argument with the WFI President after pushing himself on stage despite saying no. The wrestler, apparently from Uttar Pradesh, was barred from competing because he was beyond the age restriction of 15 years. The wrestler stepped in and fought with the MP of Kaiserganj as soon as he came on the stage. The WFI president lost his cool and slapped the wrestler after repeatedly urging him to step down.

After the incident, Singh said that no one would accept indiscipline and if the wrestler had competed irrespective of his age, it would have left a negative image on other wrestlers.

According to Bhola Nath Singh, older wrestlers are a major problem in competition for young wrestlers, and sports authorities should recognize this and try to stop it.
