New Delhi: Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director and Chairman of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) received a very warm welcome as she arrived at New Delhi’s IGI airport on Thursday to attend the much-awaited G20 Summit.
On her arrival, the cultural team showcased a folk dance on Sambalpuri song which she couldn’t resist, and started grooving out of love. Actually, in a kind gesture, she applauded their performance and grooved a little. She tried copying their moves and folded her hands out of respect to greet the performers as she left for the venue.

Sambalpuri dance, which is actually known as Dalkhai dance is India’s one of the most prominent folk dances from Odisha. The eternal love narrative of Radha and Lord Krishna, incidents from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, and descriptions of nature are among the topics on which the dance is performed. This dance originated from the Sambalpur district of Odisha and hence also known as Sambalpuri folk dance.
