Mumbai: Former Indian cricketer Vinay Kumar Has been appointed as the talent scout for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises Mumbai Indians.
Vinay is the latest to join the defending champion’s talent scout division, which recently saw Parthiv Patel Join its ranks.
The 37-year-old will work closely with the Mumbai Indians management and coaching staff.

Akash Ambani, owner of Mumbai, “I am delighted that Vinay has joined our Talent Scout programme. Mumbai Indians is founded on strong fundamentals of belief in talent discovery and nurturing youth. I believe Vinay in our ideology and scouting strengths. Will add value.” Indians said in a statement.
In a career spanning 17 years of first-class cricket, Vinay led Karnataka to 2 coveted Ranji Trophy titles, and was part of two winning campaigns (2015 and 2017) for Mumbai Indians. Vinay announced his retirement in February 2021.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to be reunited with Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians strive for excellence in every aspect of the game, and that is undoubtedly their key strength. This is a new chapter, and a personal one. Since then I consider it as an opportunity for myself to give back to cricket,” Vinay said.
Mumbai Indians lock horns with CSK for restart on September 19 IPL 2021. The final match of the league stage will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on 8 October.
The first qualifier will be played on October 10 in Dubai. Eliminator and Qualifier 2 will be played in Sharjah on October 11 and 13 respectively, with Dubai hosting the final of IPL 2021 on October 15 this year.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule of the remaining matches of the IPL on Sunday. A total of 31 matches will be played over a period of 27 days.
