Kamal Haasan fans got off to a great start to the week, with the actor announcing the release date of his upcoming film Vikram. The much-awaited action thriller which also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles will hit the screens on June 3, its makers announced on Monday. Tamil film directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj. Haasan, who also produces the film through his Raj Kamal Films International, announced the film’s release date on Twitter.
He added: “I look forward to the worldwide release of our ‘Vikram’ in cinemas on June 3, 2022.” He also shared a behind the scenes video of the shooting of the film. Have a look:
Hours before the announcement, the actor also tweeted a birthday wish for the director of the film.
Happy Birthday to Lokesh Kanakraj, who started off as a fan, has grown into a director and has now become a brother.
Billed as a high-octane action drama, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial wrapped up the shooting of the film on March 2. Kamal Haasan and R. Produced by Mahendran, the film, which has three powerhouse actors and a star-studded crew is in the works. The last nine months have given rise to great expectations.
Haasan, who started filming for “Vikram” last July, left the reality TV series “Bigg Boss Ultimate” in February as a host due to scheduling conflicts with the film.
The main shooting of the film began in August 2021 despite the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions and the new Omicron version, which threatened to derail the shooting.
The crew worked tirelessly following all the necessary protocols and finally managed to wrap up the shooting of the film recently.
Apart from the three powerhouse actors playing the lead roles, the film also stars Narayan, Chemban Vinod, Kalidas Jayaram and Gayatri in pivotal roles.
