In a shocking turn of events, Tamil actor Chiyan Vikram has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai. The actor, who was supposed to attend the teaser launch of his upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi and others were admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Friday.
His publicist confirmed that the actor was rushed to the hospital after exhibiting symptoms like ‘mild chest discomfort’. He took to Twitter and clarified that Vikram did not suffer a heart attack, dismissing the false reports of the same.
“Dear fans and well wishers, Chiyaan Vikram had mild chest discomfort and is being treated. As the report falsely claims, he did not suffer a heart attack. We are saddened to hear rumors to this effect,” the campaigner said on Twitter. The actor is said to be likely to get discharged later in the evening, but he will miss out on the teaser launch.

The Mani Ratnam directorial is based on the classic Tamil novel of the same name by writer Kalki. It will open in theaters in two parts, with the first part releasing in five languages on September 30 this year. Set in the 10th century, the film encapsulates the epic fantasy drama and depicts the ongoing crisis and dangers before the throne of the Chola emperor and battles between the army, enemies and traitors.
