However, the family is still grappling with the formalities to be done before obtaining the necessary permissions for the last rites.

Galani’s best friend Rajti Rawail It is learned that the family will not get the body till January 4. “It is the law of the land in the UK and there is little we can do about it.” The last rites are likely to be held on January 6 or 7. “Again, it’s the law of the land. Crematoriums feel booked up and full,” reveals Rawail, who has been in constant touch with the family in London.

Continuing the conversation with Rawail, we asked him what exactly went wrong with Galani. The first day was not the right time to ask this question, so we postponed it. Yes, we knew he had blood cancer. How did you slip down the slope so quickly? Rawail said Galani had been unwell since last March. Rawail revealed, “He was in Dubai and suddenly felt short of breath. When he returned to India, he did some tests and learned the sad news. However, he kept it all to himself.”

But news and tide wait for no man. Galani’s close friends Sajid Nadiadwala, Ratan Jain And Boney Kapoor came to know about it. “He and a few other friends from the industry are in close touch with the family and trying to guide them on the best way forward.”

Rawail also added that Vashu Bhagnani who lives in the UK most of the time, has come forward to help make the funeral arrangements.

“Galani’s daughter Hitika wants to be an actor and son Prateek wants to be a producer; I think he is working on some OTT projects as well,” signed off on Rawail.
