For celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani’s annual calendar shoot, Vidya Balan bared it all, personifying sensuality in nothing but a newspaper covering. The image captures Vidya sitting in a café setting, holding a coffee mug, covering herself with nothing but an old newspaper. The actress gives the impression that she is wearing nothing beyond the paper covering. She has accessorized the look with dark sunglasses and black heels while sporting a red lipstick. Her hair is styled to the side in one thick curl.
Dabboo Ratnani shared the image on his official Instagram last year, which is now making the headlines again. Netizens share their reactions in the comment section. The first user stated, “Perhaps, there is hot news in the newspaper.” A second user shared, “The Newspaper company sales must have touched the sky.” Although, some users are sharing their disdain over the image saying this is an insult to clothing.
The actress is known for appearing in blockbusters like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Kahaani, The Dirty Picture and critically acclaimed works like Parineeta and No One Killed Jessica.
She is currently appearing in the film Do Aur Do Pyaar, which was released last week on April 19. Directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, the film stars Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy among others. It is produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar and Swati Iyer Chawla under the banners of Applause Entertainment and Ellipsis Entertainment Production. The music in the film is given by several artists including Subhajit Mukherjee and Abhishek-Ananya.
The actress is set to reprise her role of Manjulika from the super hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa, in its third instalment, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
