According to reports, the sound of a major explosion was heard around 6 pm local time. Then everyone got scared. As can be seen in the video everyone is running in the street in panic.
City officials said a cable failure caused an explosion in a manhole in Times Square. Smoke was coming out of the second manhole.
According to the New York Fire Department, a total of three manholes were being set on fire. Immediately the roads around it were closed.
