Vidarbha seamer Darshan Nalkande created history by taking four wickets against Karnataka in the semi-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 on Saturday. Nalkande has become the second Indian player to achieve this feat in T20 cricket. Abhimanyu Mithun had made this claim in the last season.

It was the final over of the first innings, with Nalkande dismissing Anirudh Joshi, BR Sharath, J Suchit and Abhinav Manohar in successive deliveries as Karnataka posted 176/7 in 20 balls. The 23-year-old pacer scored 4/28 runs in his quota of four overs.

Asked to bat at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Karnataka scored 176 for seven with Rohan Kadam’s whirlwind 87 off 56 balls and then hit the opposition with right-arm pacer Vidyadhar Patil (1/29) for six. Retained for 172 on the wicket. In the last over.
