Veteran actor of Pratigya fame Anupam Shyam passes away due to multiple organ failure

Veteran actor Anupam Shyam, known for his roles in several television shows and films, passed away late on Sunday. He was 63 years old.

The actor, who was recently known for playing the role of Thakur Sajjan Singh in the show “Mann Ki Pratigya 2”, passed away due to multiple organ failure. The actor was not healthy for the past few years and was also on dialysis.

Confirming the news, actor Manoj Joshi tweeted: “Saddened by the passing of my friend and very talented actor Anupam Shyam ji. We have lost a great man. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

Other members of the entertainment industry also took to social media to offer condolences.

In 2020, the actor was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and started his dialysis. Cine and TV Artists Associated (CINTAA) had appealed for financial help on behalf of the actor. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced an assistance of Rs 20 lakh for the actor’s treatment. Bollywood actor Sonu Sood also came forward to help.

Shyam is originally from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh and started his career in 1993. An alumnus of Bhartendu Academy of Dramatic Arts in Lucknow, he has been a part of popular Bollywood movies like Dastak, Dil Se…, Lagaan, Golmaal and Munna Michael.

On television, apart from Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, he has also done shows like Rishtey, Doli Armaano Ki, Krishna Chali London and Hum Ne Li Hai- Shapath.
