RJ Balaji’s much-awaited film Veetala Vishyam released on Sunday and is receiving a good response from the Tamil audience. After a successful run across Tamil Nadu, the film has been marked as the Best Family Entertainer. Veetala Vishyam is an official Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster hit Badhaai Ho, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Sanya Malhotra and Gajraj Rao.
Badhaai Ho won two National Awards including Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
Excited by the response to Veetala Vishyam, the team said, “Veetla Vishyam is definitely a hit. The film has taken families to the theatre. In the last one year, only films that hit the theaters with a budget of Rs 500 crore and Rs 1000 crore are running successfully. Some films did not get the expected success. Movies with a good story in a low budget are a guarantee of success. Meanwhile, films that can be watched with family are currently on a decline. This film has made up for that shortcoming.”
The film stars radio jockey-turned-actor Balaji in place of Ayushmann Khurrana, while actors Sathyaraj and Urvashi play the roles of actors Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta, respectively.
Soorarai Pottru fame Aparna Balamurali is seen in the lead role in the film. Apart from this, the remake stars Pavitra Lokesh, Yogi Babu and others in pivotal roles.
Jointly directed by NJ Saravanan and RJ Balaji, the film is co-written by RJ Balaji. The two had earlier worked together in the 2020 Tamil comedy film Mukuthi Amman.
Talking about the technical team, Karthik Muthukumar has handled the director of photography, Girish Gopalakrishnan is the face behind the film’s music, Selva RK has handled the editing for the project, while the remake’s story is written by Shantanu Srivastava and Akshat Ghildiyal. . ,
